What is it then? If you don't want it to be equated that way, then take a knee at a time when the National Anthem isn't playing. Now it's too late. The protest movement has failed because it alienated too many people, just like the rioting and looting and chanting at the BLM rallies. Why can't people study MLK or Ghandi tactics? The only way protest movements have ever worked is when they were peaceful and sympathetic.

He didn't disrespect anything. Plenty of Vets will back this point of view, infact, most of them are sick and tired of people using their service as a wedge device.

To protest the flaghaters I think everyone should vote Republican in the midterms.

good, let him pull his ads. The market he's trying to appeal to should respond to that, the same way I support companies who pulled their ads from Breitbart. That's the American way. I doubt enough merchants will pull their ads to make a difference to the NFL, or even local stations, but that shouldn't stop him from exercising his right to control how to spend his own money.

LOL, US taxpayers will spend millions to bail out this scumbag's pension plan that he failed to fund properly. So taking a knee during a song is disrespecting the nation, but screwing over your employees and sticking taxpayers with the bill is OK if you are a Republican.

Fast forward to today, if you stand for the anthem you are a far right racist bigot.

Say what? Seriously. This is the current state of affairs.

Just as a matter of background on Kaepernick, his father was black and left him as a child. He was given up for adoption by his mother to a white couple in the suburbs. This guy has no idea what real struggle is. All he knows are the media headlines and social media campaigns. No doubt his adopted parents fostered their deep sentiments of "white guilt".

When the only parents you know don't respect themselves, is it any wonder you grow up not respecting anything? Food for thought.
Left him as a child? For all you know, his father doesn't even know he exists. His birth mother split from his father long before his birth.

She gave him up for adoption immediately after his birth.

What does his adoption have to do with him using his legal right to protest? What...he isn't kissing white folks' ass hard enough for your taste?

Never worked a day in his life? Please...if a linebacker ever hits you, you'll be in a coma for a month!

an i think payday loan companies would be more acceptable if they were forced to live with a nominally high interest rate, like say no more than 50%. that way the people that get those payday loans would have at least a chance of paying off those loans. but this borrow 1000 dollars and pay back 18,000 dollars is rubbish.
Agreed, it's not the smart move. But you can't cure stupid. It's not governments job to raise people from cradle to grave.

Reminds me of the very first time I saw obama. During the debates caps on credit cards were discussed with obama saying he didn't like the proposed cap so he voted against it. Edwards said "So you'd rather have no cap at all"? Everyone laughed at obama.

Like I said, you can't sure stupid.

Failed? I see hundreds of players, coaches, and owners linking arms. Who knows where it will end, but it sure got a new life over the weekend. The protest was on its way out in 2017, but Trump revived it.

Nobody is saying that, except possibly the voices in your head.
