I think traditional Americans want to embrace dissent in the name of free speech and accept harsh criticism of the government as "the American way". But there are limits to how much flag, anthem and statue bashing people will tolerate. At some point most will stop watching and buying tickets.

When unarmed black men are being gunned down in the streets by the police without consequence, those with a platform have to stand up... Stay woke...
The league, and their owners need to communicate to their players that the First Amendment does not apply to private employment, and they can be de-activated, disciplined, fined, and/or fired for not abiding by their rules of conduct. The USE of the team name, jerseys, venue, airtime, sponsors an FANS should not be allowed.

This is exactly the conclusion many will come to. And when they do, these athletes will no long have a platform.
It doesn't have the same meaning to the downtrodden. That's like saying the Jews should have respected the German flag under Hitler. It's cloth. If the GOV isn't doing the right thing the flag shouldn't be blindly worshipped. Simple as that.

Playing the national anthem at games is unnecessary but they could simply have the broadcast station run an extra ad. I have been to high school, college and NFL games and seen seated people wolfing down nachos & hot dogs, men with their hats on and others chatting away while the anthem was played. I bet those are the same white conservatives who now have their underwear all twisted in a wad.
Other countries only play national anthems when they are playing international games against other countries.
The only anthem played at most games is the cluns own.

The left? It's becoming very acceptable over all. You may hate to admit it but I think the episode with the nurse has woke many people up. Is it sort of unfortunate that it took an episode like that to get people to understand but it has.
Many have realized we do have a problem with an out of control authoritarian police force.
