Actually sea levels began to rise in the late 1800s, when humans started burning huge amounts of coal. Before that it had remained steady for about 2000 years.
If not for CO2 emissions we would be in a cooling period today.

Actually the terms global warming and climate change are both relevant, but describe different things....Global warming is a simple fact. Climate is changing in complicated ways because the planet is warming.

7,000 years ago the climate stabilized and sea level rise slowed, holding largely steady for most of the last 2,000 years, based on records from corals and sediment cores.
