Back in my anti-zionist days I used to call it the "mistake of 1948" .. displacing all the people who lived there to settle these Ashkanazi jews who had no real right to that land. The original inhabitants to that land during biblical times were not "Khazar" bloodline, but were arab bloodline.
These days I don't care much either way. Israel provides many benefits to society from a technological and cultural standpoint, while the arab world does not. I don't think they should be a welfare state funded by our tax dollars, but I don't support turning them into glass like I did in the past. The arab world, however, can catch up with the rest of the world from a cultural standpoint. How about they learn to live with each other and put the rocks and guns down?
Yeah, my thoughts are that only inexperienced, delusional, ignorant novices like Trump and Kushner would have imagined they could jump in and solve something that has stymied experts for over half a century.
More evidence of the enormous con that was had on the American people.
"I'll solve all of these problems! And it will be easy!"
I mean - of course this was complete and utter nonsense (it was super obvious that Trump had NEVER done research on the background for ANY of these issues he promised he'd solve instantly...), but people bought it. He said what they wanted to hear.
Now that it is clearly obvious that these problems are enormously more complicated and difficult to solve than he lead the people to believe, it doesn't matter. He's in the WH, and we put his dumbarse there.
My thoughts are what idiot (oh yeah--that one) thought Kushner was able to negotiate worlds affairs in the first place? He is young, inexperienced and raised on real estate.
If Trump would let Tillerson do his job and hire people to fill the empty positions, maybe foreign affairs would be going better. Ivanka should not have been sitting around the table with world leaders---or working in the west wing, for that matter, and Kushner should go back to real estate.
After 50 years of negotiations in some minimal matter and for someone to finally state "There may be no solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict" is pretty much stating the truth. The Israelis are not going to pack up their bags and leave the entire country as the Palestinians want to happen. The Palestinians are trying to do politically what they couldn't do by multiple wars.

It all comes down to Jerusalem. That's a battle that none of us should want to see fought.

I'll second that.
Plus, since after a mere 6 months of dabbling in this matter, Kushner has decided that since he cannot do it, no one can! After all, Kushner is a diplomat on par with Kissinger! LOL
A mere 1% cut in US defense spending would be double what the US gives Israel, an amount equal to 1/2 of one percent of defense spending. And Trump was seeking a 10% increase in defense spending for 2018.
The Iraq war may cost $6 Trillion after all is done, we give Israel $3 Billion annually.
Want to save some tax dollars? Cut the defense budget by 10%, then you will make a tiny dent in our annual discretionary spending. And stop starting unnecessary wars.

If you're 'talking bloodlines' they're likely 'cousins'. If you're talking Cain & Abel, that's another story, however still same bloodlines.
In any event, that's one of the downsides of humanity ~ we off each other out of emotional turmoil attached to 'things' no one can take with us rather than attempting to 'work it out'. Little kids do better.

Hah! Was thinking along these same lines also ~ 'Nobody knew that interfering in family feuds could be so complicated.'
Who knew the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be so complicated? Nobody knew!
