In my brief review of this thread, this is a good statement. A Grand Jury can indeed take months, or years, to investigate, etc.
To me, the 'big' news is this: a Federal Grand Jury has been called. Said jury cannot be 'fired' by the President. The power of a Grand Jury must not be under-estimated: they have a lot of power, and may issue subpoenas for all sorts of things, such as income tax records.
However, empaneling a Grand Jury does not imply any type of guilt. Donald JOHN Trump and his campaign are still presumed innocent. I still consider our President innocent of any wrong-doing, until proven otherwise in a court of law.
However, that said, if he visited my house, I would lock up the good silverware (and, my wife).
It'll be so much fun to watch which of tRump's cronies and family get subpoenaed.
Because in my limited legal knowledge, it seems that grand jury questioning is meant to collect info from underlings on the main target of the investigation.
Trumpers are getting desperate, Dave. They can feel the walls caving in.
Not really.
Even in the unlikely event Trump must step down, then Pence will be president, and he will likely pick someone like Ted Cruz as vP. It won't be as bad for the Republicans as you think
"Special Counsel Robert Mueller Impanels Washington Grand Jury in Russia Probe - Expansion beyond Flynn grand jury is a sign the investigation in election meddling is ramping up"
If Mueller found nothing, what's he gonna show to the Grand Jury?
No, Special Prosecutor Mueller and his team finally have enough evidence to warrant a grand jury - and grand juries can issue indictments.
This is very bad news for Team Trump.
You put a Grand Jury to put everybody under OATH to get to the truth.....That's how you do an investigation and what should have been done to Hillary Clinton.
you are clueless, you don't need evidence to put a gran jury.....sometimes grand jury doesn't indict.
put everybody and the sources under oath.....this will clear Trump or indict him but you have no clue which way this will go.
We knew that the Trumpees would come out with childish and silly statements, trying to minimize the importance of not only this investigation, but these recent Grand Jury developments. If Mueller thought he had nothing to prepare a Grand Jury for, he would not be setting it up.
Another aspect is, the Attorneys they have working this investigation are all highly paid, high level lawyers. If they gave up their high paying regular jobs to join this investigation, that hints that there is something to this whole mess. Otherwise, they would not be so willing to devote their valuable time to it.
Regardless of how the WH and Trumpees try to make this a nothing burger, the reality is, this is a very serious investigation. It shouldn't be too long now until we find out exactly what they have uncovered. Trump must be sweating bullets.
