It's just really sad when you see a president try and take credit for another president. I don't know what's more sad Trump blaming everyone else for his failures or taking credit where none is due.

Okay..., I'll waste a little time addressing another list like this, as if anyone could care less beyond whatever they WANT to believe about Trump (or not), beginning with the fact that I can admit Trump and Congress appointed/confirmed Supreme Court Judge Gorsuch. At least that's a tangible, though still a good or bad thing depending on one's perspective, but okay -- 1 for Trump and his band. That wasn't so hard...

2. Bombs dropped in Syria. Nothing new. Trump was against similar that Obama wanted to do when Obama was more inclined to get Congressional approval. See history of U.S. military engagement in Syria. This is not a point for Trump, and for lots of folks including Trump supporters, more such bombing in the ME is going backward, not forward.

3. He took us out of TPP. Even Hillary Clinton vowed to do the same. Intended to help the U.S., it just didn't for lots of reasons, but pulling out doesn't necessarily help either. Something like Trump's "repeal and replace" efforts, when you replace with nothing, you essentially take credit for doing essentially nothing in terms of results (and/or just going backwards).

4. Illegal immigration is now down 70%. Perhaps a point for Trump here, but have the number of "rapists and murderers" gone down too? Do we have Americans filling those jobs in restaurants, motels and in the fields? Changing beds, cleaning toilets, washing dishes and pulling our strawberries? Those industries are already struggling to cope, and the "jury is still out" as to whether this is more a good thing or a bad thing. Might have been better to ease the access to this labor force, especially for seasonal demands. Just saying.

5. Consumer confidence highest since 2000 at index 125.6. Comes from a good and/or improving economy and if you want to give Trump for the better economy, then I guess I really am wasting my time...

But either way, easy to see how easy it is to take just about any "win" and see that it isn't really so much a win to all concerned all considered. Right? In fact, might even be the opposite if you dare consider all the facts beyond the partisan rhetoric.

Funny this one too...

We're going to give Trump credit for the restoration of the real estate market? For the return of home equity values? Increases in the cost of housing too? Here again, we might want to review the same sort of "win" of more mortgage applications just before the Great Recession, but why do that unless you want to think objectively about these sorts of issues?

Objectivity in this forum as represented yet again by this thread is something like finding life on Mars. So far not so easy to do...

I suppose the "free trade" folks are suddenly in favor of tariffs, or maybe sometimes, or maybe if you are an American lumber concern, but here again..., the result for average Americans is what? We've got a restriction of labor coming from our important trading partner to the South, insulting Mexico and Mexicans in the process of course. Now too, we have a a trade battle with our important neighbor and ally to the north that has already increased the cost of lumber, that affects our construction/housing/furniture markets just how exactly? No point in asking such questions if it might mean Trump isn't actually doing what is best for average Americans? That it?

I did like the idea of the apprenticeship program but I knew he wasn't going to do anything with it. With what few good ideas he might have he never even follows through with them.
Not to mention you never start a list with Neil Gorsuch. Appointing him as judge solidifies the lack of respect I have for him.

You all are beating a dead horse. I know you enjoy doing this, but what's the point. We all know what you're going to say before you say it.
If the economy takes a turn for the worst, you'd blame Trump and say Obama had nothing to do with it. So, again, what's the point?
Provide me with some tangible evidence that Trump deserves praise about anything.
We continue to dislike him because no matter what he's still the same guy we have come to despise.
Obama isn't president now so what's your point?
Okay if you want a positive for Trump, I have two. He's easy to make fun of and people are now more involved in matters of government than they ever were since he became president but the latter is only because they are concerned about what he will do.

Deloitte & Touche conducts periodic survets of global CEOs in a variety of business segments. They last surveyed 500 global CEOs in manufacturing in late 2015 well before it was known who would be nominated or elected in 2016. The survey concluded the US was positioned to reclaim the top spot in manufacturing and China would be number 2 again by 2020. This was based upon the unprecedented number of back orders for custom industrial robotics being made by US as well as non US manufacturers with US operations.

It was not dependent on the 2016 election. No matter who won, he or she would take a bow if the conclusions become realized, despite that the seeds were planted long before they took office.

We are not talking toasters here. It's all about big ticket stuff, aircraft, war toys and cars/ trucks.

Looks like dropping out of the TPP, dropping out of the Paris Accord, cutting regulations and red tape on certain industries and cutting on unnecessary fed spending along just being all around a business friendly environment paid off.
