It used to be, that MAD Magazine, Harvard Lampoon and a few other such publications, were the only places you'd see a president depicted this way. But Trump has changed all that. Even the most traditional and reserved news magazines can no longer take him seriously, despite what a dire threat he poses to the world. But imagine how much more dangerous he'd be, if he weren't so lazy and inept!
Newsweek has to do this. Their readership has dropped drastically. You can look it up. They are the ones who had a Madame President cover hit the newsstand after the election. It's now a collector's item. They had to recall 125,000 copies. Point being hardly anyone will see the magazine with Trump on the cover.
Absolutely damning indictment of Trump's presidency to date.
I will give NewsWeek credit for trying to be fair and for throwing a few bones to Trumpers. but is is damming, and sadly all to real.
They did not embellish, they called out MSNBC as partisan etc. They gave strong quotes from supporters, but still absolutely damning. A lame duck at 6 months? I sure hope something happens, maybe Kelly with McMasters etc might be able to save this POTUS.
How humiliating for what little remained of Newsweek.
When the total value of what little remains of your enterprise is $1.00 or less, obviously nobody is going to care what you put on the cover. They'll only care that the pages of your little rag are absorbent enough for use in the comfort station.
That was my thought as well. Last I heard, Tina Brown had killed yet another periodical. I stopped giving Newsweek even a cursory once-over when Eleanor Clift became their cleanup hitter.
17 day vacation? Vacation from what?? His tiny little thumbs all tuckered out?
