It was actually an acquisition. Charter is partially owned by my former parent company who spun us off a few years back. My company is now owned by Lionsgate who is also partially owned by my formal parent company. Weird how thinks work.

Moonves might have to work to sell CBS shareholders on the merits of buying a cable channel. The business is widely seen as in decline as pay TV subscriptions decline.

The entertainment industry is hurting since the decline of their big moneymaker, DVD sales. Now it looks like cable TV is headed into the toilet as well. Less a political move to buy or not buy than a financial decision.

CNN may be left to twist slowly in the wind. Hey, I have an idea: they should say that Jim Acosta is "transitioning." That will get a few more people watching.
