Trump is also facing the reality that his words — or tweets — are often not having their desired impact. Three Republican senators defied him and congressional leadership in opposing efforts to move the Republican health-care bill forward. His entreaties to lawmakers to delay their summer break and stay in Washington to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act were summarily ignored.
His unexpected announcement on Twitter that he would ban transgender people from serving in the military has been denounced by members of Congress in both parties and largely ignored by the military — for now. And this week, Trump was publicly chided for apparently inventing congratulatory calls from the leader of the Boy Scouts of America and the president of Mexico that never occurred.
Trump still has the bully pulpit, but is facing more challenges to his authority

Wonderful, wonderful news that the ORANGE-ADE is wearing off and this SUB-HUMAN PATHOLOGICAL LYING PIECE OF SWAMP-SCUM, is already a LAME-DUCK POTUS.....whose asinine ideas are being blocked at every turn!

He has always been a crook and a thug-businessman,[just read the Wikipedia article on Trump Tower!] and now his crooked dealings and phony claims to wealth are about to be exposed for the world to see!

Nah, I gotta believe a 71 year old who is so pathetically, childishly needy he feels compelled to make-up self-aggrandizing phone calls and strut around as if he actually received them has some serious mental issues and is far worse than Obama.

The challenges to Trump/U.S. authority extends beyond our nation, the prominence of leaders in several countries throughout the word has risen significantly over the past 6 months. Notably Putin.

Considering the U.S. now has the world's equivalent of the village idiot as president, underscores how successful the Russians were at intervening for/with Trump in our elections.

Trump's whole presidency is tainted.

I think I've gained a little respect for Mitch McConnell this week. Kudos for putting country ahead of party.

Trump could never tell as big a lie as "you can keep your doctor --- You can keep your insurance plan"
