Of course I want him to succeed for the betterment of the country. I didn't vote for him but since he was elected I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now there is just doubt.

If he succeeds we all succeed, if he fails we fail. If MSM have their way he will fail which tells you how much they care about the country. They'd rather see him fail and reap ad revenue in the process.

Cash before country!

I want America to succeed.

Unlike tRump, who is working to undermine so much of what makes America what it is.

So it goes.

I want Trump to succeed in making America a better place but I'm not so sure his policies like crippling the EPA are the way to make it so.

Exactly, this is not the agenda of a "conservative". Conservatives understand that a strong economy and a stable secure nation require a unpolluted environment where our natural resources are well protected. This is all a show for Trump's "base" he hasn't put one minute of thought into the repercussions of his decision. He just wants to show that he's tearing a boogeyman down, that the propaganda machine propped up for the Cult.

Yep. Most of us were in that boat, of course we wanted him to succeed, even though we did not vote for him. Why in the world would you want him to fail? But unfortunately it became clear almost from day one, that we made a grave mistake in electing this man to be POTUS. It's pretty tough to see any bright spots at this point. Just hope we can get through 3.5 more years without an international crisis or a war. Can't envision a worse person at the helm in a situation like 9/11, or even more unimaginable - a nuclear confrontation.

I answered the question from the perspective of do I want his stated policies to carry the day.
that's the "Rush Limbaugh" approach. Rush wanted Obama to fail. not because he wanted a democrat to see America succeed, but because his belief was that if Progressive Ideas succeed, America loses.

from that perspective, I want Trump to succeed because I believe the best thing we can do for the country is lower taxes, get rid of ACA, removing overly burdensome regulation and get really close to ending illegal immigration.

I want him to be successful if it benefits ALL of the American people. However, I do not want his policies to succeed if they damage or endanger U.S. citizens, i.e., cutting regulation on environmental issues, filling his cabinet with people who are the antithesis of what those departments are supposed to be about, sabotaging Obamacare (being it's the only healthcare policy we presently have), etc.

Since he already is a failure, I'll go with that.
