This summer is turning out to be one of the coolest summers in recent years... oppss...
The nuts will say that the US isn't the globe, then they will point to some obscure place on the planet about the size of Texas that was a couple degrees hotter and say "see!" although that isn't global either. It's seriously like trying to talk sense into a 3 year old.
^^^^^^^Considering the above, weren't there drastic changes to the climate, prior to man, and prior to man's industrialization? Weren't these drastic climate changes far worse than anything we've seen since man's industrialization, which is just a very small window of time? Actually, considering the length of time the window we've measured is STATISTICALLY INSIGNIFICANT.
Now I expect the usual positions from deniers: 1.The anti-science claptrap or 2. The "I know better than the Climate Scientists" by people who do not have the knowledge of a 5th grade earth science student.
Climate Change must be dealt with and the slow suicide of the human race through climate denial and failure to act must come to an end.
Here's the problem. With the current Trump Administration, we are currently in the midst of a War on Democracy that has the potential to destroy or permanently damage the underpinnings of the system that has protected us and brought us unprecedented prosperity for over 240 years. When you are at war, you have to decide which battles are on the immediate critical path to survival. Climate change and guns are important issues, but right now we have much bigger fish to fry, like preserving our Constitutionally guaranteed liberties. That has to be the highest priority, otherwise all other issues are irrelevant.

So what?
Do you cook chicken before you eat it? Or do just eat raw chicken because people have died of the plague and other horrible illnesses that are way worse than Salmonella during the Dark Ages? The amount of time you may be sick from Salmonella will be STATISTICALLY INSIGNIFICANT compared to the scale and degree of suffering from, for example, the Bubonic Plague. So eating raw chicken is probably no big deal.
The battle over Climate Change will only intensify in the next few years as its effects become more pronounced.
I agree that it is beating a dead horse when it comes to the existence of anthropogenic climate change. The only issue worth debating is what to do about it and how fast can we do it.
So what do you propose should be done that will have any significant effect future temperatures?
The following report contains a bunch of words in no particular order. At the end of the report you will be taxed and regulated. Thank you and don't forget to vote!

Some truth for the political Right: accepting AGW doesn't necessarily mean higher taxes and redistribution of wealth. It may simply mean that we replace coal power plants with nuclear plants. There are new nuclear reactor designs that are smaller, cheaper, and safer than traditional reactors.
Some truth for the political Left: solar and wind aren't very economical (you need large numbers of wind turbines and solar panels to produce meaningful amounts of power) and they must be backed up with natural gas power plants for times when the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing. We are going to need nuclear power if we want to make meaningful reductions in CO2 emissions without breaking the bank.
