Indeed. I'd drop Saudi Arabia for the Iranians any day.

I wouldn't say Islam has nothing to do with it, but 'we' did take it away.

Iran was at that time one of the most modern and advanced Muslim countries along with Turkey and Lebanon. (Yes, I know it was a dictatorship.) Then it fell into the abyss thanks to the mullahs.

Now, Turkey (the most advanced Muslim country of all, which actually has been democratic) seems to be falling into that same abyss.

No, the mullahs didn't restore it. In 1979? LOL...they were smart enough to know that the CIA would've destroyed it again. And of course, they're right.

No, Iran didn't "fall" into the abyss...the people overwhelmingly CHOSE a mullahtocracy for better or worse.

They probably are better off.

The shah was a dictator, and he was overthrown for a reason. While a theocracy isn't my ideal form of government, neither is a dictatorship.

No doubt the women in the picture all wound up in West LA along with so many of their other countrymen and women.

Several mid sixties articles in Field and Stream about sheep hunts in Iran. Touted a must do sportman's destination.

Obama turning his back on the Iranian people when they rose up to defy the mullahs, will go down in history as 'one' of many galactic foreign policy blunders of the novelty election winner and well spoken community organizer.

the Iranian people were far more aligned with the west than Iraq, that was an intellignec blunder under GWB. Should have invaded Iran and not Iraq. If you trust Hillary, she was all for it.

Uh-oh, we have a bad-ass over here.

Knox Harrington, you should actually feel lucky, because Wee holds a black belt in 3 branches of logic and his frontal lobes are registered as deadly weapons with the local police department. He just can't be bothered to deal with you right now - but he would, like, totally have wiped the floor with you.

Seriously, has that sort of bravado ever convinced anyone?

Head-to-toe is Saudi Arabia - you know, our bosom buddies who made the idiot-in-charge run his mouth against Qatar before realizing that oopsie, we have a pretty big base there.
