Sure, but it continues to show the true nature of liberals
*progressives
The divergence in terms from European politics to American politics is getting increasingly problematic. The Democrats and Republicans are both 'liberal.' Democrats are starting to move towards European progressivism in a way they've never done before, but until recently, they were liberals. Republicans were also liberals.
Liberals believe in capitalism, freedom, equality, governments that recognize rights, and representative governments. Both parties believe(d) in this, though disagree on certain things. Modern liberals (D) tend to believe in a social welfare state, while Republians, not necessarily intolerant of the idea, tend to be skeptical of such a system. There was always an heir of progressivism within modern liberals, but it was always a very moderate progressivism. Modern liberals still supported free speech, which progressives are less in favor of as a general rule.
I recently heard it put very interesting: liberals believe in equal opportunity while progressives believe in equal outcomes. Liberals who are in favor of social welfare still expect the recipient to put effort into things and recognize that some fail to do so and don't make up deconstructionist reasons as to why the recipient failed. They may take pity, but aren't naive.
A modern liberal would never censor free speech. A progressive would have much less difficulty justifying doing just that if they justify it with a subjective term, like hate speech.
Let's get back on board with classical politics. Liberals and progressives refer to entirely different things.
Facebook and Youtube (Google) are essentially high tech ads companies....
You'll have to ask the companies buying the ads why they think conservative leaning speech doesn't sell. Perhaps it's the discrimination that comes from the religious right and other bottom dwelling conservative groups?

Words and ideas are a resource.
Google's ad sense is based on the advertisers themselves.
If an individuals video gets demonetized, that is less on Google/Youtube and more on say McDonalds not wanting to be associated with someone on the far right.
JC Penney's, Macy's, Kohls's and a couple of other department stores long ago told youtube to stop putting their commercials before homophobic youtube videos.
Well if you tube is a tool for the left wing then we did ours, you go do yours.
That's why.
What about the liberals who still believe in free speech and noncensorship? And independents and libertarians. They don't want to be part of this game.
I will help the poor depressed truth finders out. You can:
Create an alt to Facebook. Call it Racebook.
Create an alt to YouTube. Call it StormTube.
Snarky smears won't win you any elections. That's why Trump won. But feel free to continue denigrating a significant portion of the populace if it makes you feel better.
Yes, their site, their rules. So people are not allowed to express their opinion on it? This is one thing I've never understood about people who say this as if it is a statement that ends the discussion. We're all giving our opinions here. A response that implies that opinions are not appropriate to express are not really helpful in such a venue.
You hate to see censorship of ideas but with the level of education and inability to discern fact from fiction of so many right wingers out there, it may be unavoidable.
The agenda of the Right-wing, is to gain as much as possible for themselves and to make resources scarce for everyone else. This is sociopathic. It's only natural that the others would want to work against them. There is certainly no shortage of right-oriented websites, news publications and broadcasts. They have plenty of outlets for their propaganda. I don't see any overall disadvantage for them, except that their message is false and destructive for our society.
All the TV stations and half the radio stations in my city have been bought by ultra-right organizations. Since they can't win at the ballot box here, they are trying to control the media. I don't think it will work for them, but they are pushing hard.
Maybe conservatives should start their own video platform since they believe in free markets.
