As I said, the DA can certainly upgrade the charge. It is frequently done. Also frequent, of course, is downgrading charges.
Yep. I suspect they'll try to pressure him into accepting lesser charges in a plea deal because they know the attack on his car prior to his driving into the crowd proves it was an act of evasion/self defense.
Nothing in that article supports your false claim.
This is not my claim. This is the claim used by people who keep on saying 30 UVA students were attacked. This was the flash point started by these 30 people that started the events of the next day. Keep in mind that UVA students don't start arriving to campus until this coming Friday when they move in to the dorms.
You got it backwards. It used to be that almost everyone would defend the right of groups they don't like to assemble and demonstrate. People used to take pride in the fact that free speech was the American way. Now... not so much.
I did not state that I want to stop their rights to free speech. I however do not defend what they want to say or promote. I also choose not to send them signals that can be construed as support for their cause.
They are so repulsive, even Republicans are starting to speak up.
Will wonders never cease?
Yes, there is that... but just how many badly educated, misinformed, not-very-bright, immature and resentful young men who can't get a job or a girl are there out there to be drawn to this sort of idiocy? And what can be done about them? Wish the CCC and WPA were still around; the Army can't do it all.
Crazies. When you can't see a Tiki torch without thinking of the Klan, YOU are the problem.
Nothing the President can say will appease the fools, so why bother with them? Not worth my time.
When I see a parade of white men holding torches marching around a statue of Robert E. Lee yes the KKK comes to mind, I do believe that was the subtle message they wanted to send. The only thing missing was the hoods so at least we know who they are.

Question: Why was he in his car heading into a crowd that was totally blocking the street? Using his car as a weapon was clearly his intention when he started the engine and pointed it towards that crowd. If didn't have that intent he could have moved in the other direction.

I would hazard a guess that in most situations where a group of 30 is surrounded by many times more people, the smaller group is normally not the initiators of violence.

I'm not American and I'm a bit bugged by all this: what's a "White supremacist" and what do they stand for exactly?
They believe that the white race is superior to all others.
