The police did act stupidly, they arrested a man in his own home.
And we know for a fact Trayvon Martin wasnt the person robbing those homes, as he was not even in the city when it happened, George Zimmerman stereotyped him.
Your argument would only work if the Professors didnt own the home and had broken into it, or if Martin actually was guilty of the crime.
