I honestly get the civil war memories can be percieved as allot of hate. Not for the soldiers, as they were pretty much doing what was told of the.
The Politicians, Generals etc, sort of were too, but it was war.
But erasing history is what Socialist, Marxist do. Not our country. We are doing it because of emotion.
Never going to win or agree or disagree about the civil war and why it was fought. Thats an educatiin and indoctrination issue that is up to you to resolve.
So is this what America is l about, erasing history, because it offends you?
What's the big deal? Confederate monuments were never anything but participation trophies in the first place. They got stomped into the mud after they started the war. i would think they would want to forget it ever happened.
I guess you've never noticed that when White Supremacist gather they almost invariable carry both confederate and nazi flags - and then you ask how the two are connected - or why they are compared? Next time there is a gathering, why don't you ask them why - what the significance is? Meanwhile those of us who are not selectively deaf, dumb, and blind will carry on with knowledge of history and current events.
I thought that when "White Supremacists" gathered, they all wore those Red MAGA Caps.
It is ironic that the social justice warriors, and other "champions of the oppressed" are uninterested in equality before the law and creator endowed rights. They want a benevolent totalitarian police state to take from one to give to another - preferably themselves. There is no justice in a "tax and bribe" form of government. And socialism is anti-social as well as genocidal, fomenting division between the recipients and the donors.
Meh...leave the damn statues alone. Enough already.
Seeing people pull down that statue yesterday really pyssed me off. That's desecration and vandalism, and it's blatant disrespect for the law. There is a process for removing a statue, and that's what should be used if you want something removed. But you don't just tear it down.

Most of these removal of statues is related back to liberals upset over losing to Trump Nov. 9th and they think somehow they are 'getting back at Trump' who no doubt, like me, couldn't care less what Charlottesville, New Orleans, and Lexington do about General Lee statues.

Wow, I agree with you. As I've said, I don't care whether or not Charlottesville or New Orleans decide to remove these statues, their business...as is these protestors right to express their opposing view.
My own view is that Lee was the best General of the Civil War on either side and that he stated prior to the Civil War that he considered slavery the worst evil of mankind and that he worked to free slaves and pay for those that wanted to Africa their fare to return....therefore, given the times, he was an enlightened man. Nevertheless, I understand why anyone would take the other view that he fought on the side that wanted to preserve the evils of slavery....therefore, no hero.

He wasn't the greatest General of the Civil War by a long shot. He's not even in the Top 5.
I've got no issues with the rest of your comments.

A defeated nation doesn't get to honor their heros on Americas soil. Do it on your own private property.
The Indians have memorials....Never mind, they didnt offend/kill anyone except white people
And MArion Square is private land...
My post is not about Marion Square. It's about private property and the rights that go with it vs public property.
Nothing to do with Indians and white people.
