Navarro is an open boarders "republican". She is really a democrat who calls herself a republican. She wants to change the Republican Party to be more like the democrats, especially on immigration. She hates Trump and is always the first person to criticize him, and she always does it harshly. She felt we were so close to amnesty for her friends and relatives, and then Trump came along and stole it all away. Her response to this was just one of many predictable responses from her.

No. She wants amnesty, and that is her motivation. That is NOT an "original republican". Let's not try to change history here. That was not on the republican agenda, even before Trump. Certain "republicans" like her, were attempting to change that. For a while, it seemed like they were getting closer and closer. Then Trump came along and brought the party in the other direction. "Comprehensive immigration reform", AKA amnesty, died when Trump won the election, and Navarro hates him for it. She hates him so much that he could save drowning puppies and she would find a way to criticize him for it.
Navarro is a Reagan style Republican. Reagan is dead in the Republican party. The Republican party is now a party of Trumpian style nationalism. Trump Republicanism has no core other than adulation for its leader.
Reagan would be appalled.
