They do have platforms in the media, which are roundly rejected by most people. Let them have their free speech, but not the violence. My point is I have seen reports in the past of klan parades where about 30 people came and groups of counter-protestors stood along the road jeering at them and holding signs. There was no violence, and no converts either. The klan left at the end of the day looking like racist fools, and people thought they were idiots and then forgot about them the next day. If these Charlottesville protestors showed up with all their gear and no one on the other side engaged them, they would have looked a thousand times worse. They are marginalized. No one is inviting them to the White House, and it looks like Steve Bannon is now persona non grata there.
Don't give them the publicity they so crave by engaging with them. Treat them like the marginalized pariahs they are and people will forget about them and their membership does not grow.
Edited to respond to something I missed in your earlier post. There are numerous threads condemning the white supremacists, but this one is specifically about the counter-protestors believing in violent opposition. And quite predictably, people then find themselves defending a hate group's right to free speech as long as it's not violent. The Charlottesville people weren't non-violent, but neither were the counter protestors. Don't make victims out of the white supremacists. They're not, but adding additional violence gives a sort of moral equivalency which shouldn't be there in the first place.
Absolutely correct, Klan rallies are held every year in various cities across the US & usually people ignore them usually because they're so impotent, or they show up to mock & boo them, then go home. They've been going on for over 100 years. They happened every year during Obama's presidency, and Bush's, and Clinton's and Bush before him and so on and so on. If you only watched the mainstream media though, you'd think this was the first time since 1925 that the Klan has marched & it's all because of Donald Trump. Obviously not true to anyone with an ounce of common sense.
Also, get your head around this: It's estimated there were a whopping 50 Klan members in Charlottesville this year. You can legally fit that many people in a Subway restaurant. The estimate is around 100 with combined Klan, Neo-Nazis & White Supremacists. That's 100 too many, but if you only watched the MSM you'd think there were thousands of them & they tried to take over the city.
Question - Does the antifa thugs want Trump to win so that they will remain relevant? Because when the left is in power, they don't necessarily want the chaos. We didn't see it with Obama until he was in lame duck status - and it could have cost HRC the election.

You will see Communist flags like the North Korean flag, the Chinese Flag, Antifa flags made to look like Communist flags, lot's of Red clothing to honor Communism & lot's of red spray paint to vandalize anything Cpaitalist. Even the WaPo, who's largely on the same side as Antifa, admits they're mostly Communists. Go to any Antifa rally and the common theme is Communism.
