Oddly, Bannon's positions on trade and war may have drained away some disaffected Bernie supporters who thought Hillary was too cozy with Wall Street and were able to overlook his hateful rhetoric on other matters. Not sure where those folks will go now, as Trump seems to have little interest in keeping his promises to them (or anyone else.)
The base won't support Kasich, but if most of the base goes, Trump is basically a President with no party.

My point exactly!

How many people read the Mother Jones and took that phrase to heart?

How many people read that Breitbart article that weren't already in that very small group?

The phrase, "Alt Right" became mainstream when Hillary said it in her speech. You know it. I know it. Everybody knows it.

Trump is basically becoming an establishment Republican, so while he might lose some of his base the GOP will now support him

I certainly am losing faith the president will follow the agenda that won him the election and we will probably be looking at more miltary actions around the globe. He has surrounded himself with generals and goldman sachs types and kushner and ivanka are basically democrats

kushner ,ivanka,gary cohn,kelly, mcmasters,dina powell are terrible

This article says he will probably be heading back to breitbart to basically wage war

https://www.axios.com/bannons-next-move-2474479917.html

"Steve Bannon's next moves will be all about the billionaire Mercer family. I'm told Bannon, who visited New York this week, met with Bob Mercer and together they will be a well-funded force on the outside.

Bannon has felt liberated since it became clear he was being pushed out, according to friends. He's told associates he has a "killing machine" in Breitbart News, and it's possible he returns to lead their editorial operation.

A source familiar with Breitbart's operations told me they would go "thermonuclear" against "globalists" that Bannon and his friends believe are ruining the Trump administration, and by extension, America.

Watch for Breitbart's Washington Editor Matt Boyle to be a central figure in this war — which has already begun — against White House officials like HR McMaster, Dina Powell, Gary Cohn, and Jared and Ivanka."

I hope Bannon heads to breitbart and they start going after the Democrats and republicans. This entire presidency has been defined by russian investigations, it would be hard to figure out that the democrats are at their weakest point in 100 years. They have literally got everything they wanted

Your post warms my heart. After months and months and months of denial that the wheels were coming of the Trump train, folks like yourself are FINALLY admitting that the Trump administration has been a massive failure.

It's been fun to watch - and I'm sure there's more to come. I've said it many times and I'll repeat it again, Trump will tear apart the GOP. Could be a huge Democratic victory in the next election.

Life is good.

It is evident that you're not a chess player nor have you ever watched politicians up close and personal. And you obviously didn't read the article with any understanding. Did you really miss all the times the author wondered why Trump was calling him and telling him those things?

Why would Bannon call up a very liberal writer working for a very liberal journal and speak on the record about his enemies in the administration?

The answer to that will develop over time, but there is one thing for certain - this was not a love letter from Bannon to Trump.

I have a feeling 3/4 of Trump's "base" knows little about Bannon at all. They probably think Bannon is a brand of yogurt. Only the real political junkies among them will have much of an opinion about Bannon.
