Jerry Falwell Jr defending Trump because he had inside information, that's insane. Why is it so difficult for him to just come out and condemn rump like everyone else, this is a religious leader.

Quote:
In an interview on ABC's "This Week," Falwell repeatedly praised Trump's defense of some of the protesters at the neo-Nazi rally in Virginia, suggesting that the president knew information about the attendees that wasn't shared with the public.
"He has inside information that I don't have," Falwell said. "I don't know if there were historical purists there who were trying to preserve some statues. I don't know. But he had information I didn't have."
When pressed by host Martha Raddatz to clarify what inside information Trump allegedly had, Falwell added: "I think he saw videos of who was there. I think he was talking about what he had seen, information that he had that I don't have."

I agree ... shameful.

He is relying on the hallucinator in chief to think for him?

Whatever happened to absolute truth?

I'll say I live in suburban Atlanta and go to a conservative evangelical church. I am not right winged though and lean left on many things. To his credit the pastor did speak out against Charlottesville.

Being a non-right winger that goes to a church in the south is like being a moderate on this board.... we just remain quiet a lot and let the big mouths show how smart they are... lol.

If it is specific evangelical leaders you are referring to perhaps you should ask them directly. In general and in my experience religious leaders are not in the business of condemning people. We hate the sin, not the sinner. Judgement is left to God.

What are they waiting for?

They are still counting the money that keeps pouring in. You might not know it but God is big business in many parts of the United States.

These men of faith know the "ignorant" Trump supporters are also their largest source of income.

So of course they don't speak out.

Instead they like to stoke fears since this is what encourages people to give the most.

What on earth are you talking about? You're making things up, based on your own hatred for Trump. Nothing more.

This is an example of why I am so disgusted with C-D. They allow this crap!

The fact is, they are as fraudulent a group of "leaders" as you'll find. They preach the teachings of Jesus while following the actions of Judas.
It hurts, but it's the truth.

The pastors at my church talk about how the 21st Century church is failing society.

Most pastors simply do their jobs and do not mix politics into their sermons, but curiously some others feel compelled to remain loyal to the Republican party.

Where do you live that the religious leaders are not in the business of condemning people?

I live in North Carolina where the religious leaders are in the business of condemning people and make no bones about.

They've been condemning gay people for some time now and just recently started condemning transgender people. At the moment, there's a brouhaha going on over who can use which bathroom.
