Very thought-compelling article on the hypocrisy and double standard happening with the toppling of confederate statues and only aligning republicans with racism.
While we're toppling offensive symbols, what about the Democratic Party? - Chicago Tribune

Quote:
The Democratic Party historically is the party of slavery. The Democratic Party is the party of Jim Crow laws. The Democratic Party fought civil rights for a century.

And so by rights or at least by the standards established by the Cultural Revolutionaries of today's American left we should ban the Democratic Party.

Not only get rid of it in the present, but strike its very name from the history books, and topple all Democratic statues of leaders who benefited, prospered and became wealthy by cleaving to the party. And shame Democrats until they confess the truth of it.

The Democratic Party's military arm in the South was the KKK. The Democratic Party opposed the 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution, making the former slaves citizens of the United States and giving them the vote.

If the new Cultural Revolution was serious, wouldn't it also demand that the Democratic Party be put in a museum somewhere, away from decent people, along with those Confederate statues?

Old canard easily toppled by anyone with knowledge of American history. You can't just blindly look at the party name; those southern Democrats were conservative whites like you.

That dog really doesn't hunt when you really pay attention. Who is more racist, the people who want to see things like affirmative action go away or the people who truly believe that black people are incapable of achieving anything if the government isn't there to pave the way for them? The Democrat platform is built upon the idea that black people are subservient. If you have any doubt, look at what they do to any black person who disagrees with them.

The idiotic DNC is doubling down on more Identity Politics.

How did that work for y'all on November 8th, 2016?

Oh, how precious. Another one.

Not My Pwesident! Waa!

Let me ask you a question... wrt that coveted popular vote... at what point did you come to the realization that President Donald J. Trump won the 2016 Election? For me, it was about 9ish MST on November 8th, 2016.

If your answer is, "Still haven't come to that realization.", I'll understand.

So, there is that.

Thankfully we don't elect the President via popular vote. If we did, no politician would ever be seen outside of California, New York, and Florida. Honestly, as a Floridian, I'd prefer they spend less time here, not more.

The simple truth is that Trump won the Presidency. Whether you like him or not (I don't, actually - but I didn't like Hillary either) he is the President. His opponents are doing everything they can to stir up so much turmoil that he can't do his job. It's ridiculously petty, but there you have it. Granted the Republicans didn't work with Obama, but they didn't encourage riots in the streets, either. If the Dems want to actively block the President at the legislative level, more power to them. I like it when the government doesn't do anything. But now there is a growing portion of the left which is encouraging and practicing violence. It needs to stop.

Duplicate thread. And I ask the same question, the Founders owned slaves, they did not free the slaves when they said all men were created equal, and Washington itself glorifies those same men, so by Your logic the Nation should be torn down and rebuilt in new way. Why do you hate America?

Ancient history. The demos got religion and the republicans found the devil. Remember brew art i.e. Brannon is the platform of the alt-right. Operative word is right, it is up to republicans to denounce the racist interlopers. So far trump has done a **** Poe Jon on that matter.

Yet you can't get over a few statues from 100+ years ago

The right has their share of violence as well.
