I wasn't aware that a simple pill would fix her issue. Who woulda thunk that you can grow a new vagina from a $18 pill.
Totally missed the point. We were not talking about the $$$, but what importance is put on men's sexuality opposed to womens. Viagra has been covered by insurance as having an erection is a medical need (as if it serves any other purpose than sex) where as, for example, birth control was not covered as it was considered a want or elective option although other than preventing pregnancy which is important itself the pill is often used for other reproductive related medical issues.
Because it could be any of us, and a large block of Americans are supporting politicians who are running on the platform of "it doesn't affect me, so I don't care".
Hey, if you have cancer, not my problem
If you have Diabetes, not my problem
If you were born with a hole in your heart, or without a vagina, not my problem.
No. They are two different things. I fully 100% support health care for all and health care that would treat this lady BUT we do not have that.
Since we do not she turned to the only source she could come up with.
That's her business.

If you work for a company who enjoys your contributions up until the day they find out it costs them something to keep you on, so they fire you.... not my problem.
I just disagree. I think (opinion here) we'd be a more productive society if people were not penalized simply for being unfortunate, just so others can have a few more perks. To me, that is not productive, it's not moral, and it really is not in our best interest...
Since we do not have that, people should leave her alone.
This should be covered by insurance. It is a pretty serious defect.
I thought the same thing but I know a lot about insurance companies and can see why they would deny it.
I also wondered if she appealed or if she knew she could appeal. Many people don't know the recourse they have in the medical insurance world. She also thought it may have been quicker to just do the crowdfund. From the article it said she got the donated amount rather quickly and will have enough to fly in her family to help her during her recovery.
Insurance covered it when it was $200 a pill, too. Where you only planning to have sex the one time?
Sounds more than generous to me.
