Nope, when Katrina hit, a lot of black neighborhoods took it as a huge blue light special sale on looting. When a similar situation hit to the Mississippi where it was a majority white area, poor people were helping out neighbors and they did not even think of needing the National guard. There is a difference in people.
There were news stories during Katrina where they would show pics of blacks with food from a grocery store and say "looting" then they would show whites and they would say they "found food". This is basic little stuff that shapes how people view races differently. This is the same media that many of you hate, so hate it for that too.
I am glad you admitted it. Many like to draw conclusions about groups of people because they are insecure and it makes them feel more comfortable.
Black people are just like many people. We get up everyday and try to make the best of things. The media constantly pours this black people are bad and many don't know that it is designed to destroy their ability to reason and think for themselves.
Then you have articles like the one you are referencing that is designed to get people like you talking and pouring out their emotions before actually thinking about what they say or write.
Be kind to people and get to know them and you will be much better off.
I was being sarcastic.
I'm not going to argue with someone who won't admit that crime in downtown St. Louis is higher than the national average.

Jack Stokes, AP’s director of media relations, confirmed today that Martin says he witnessed the people in his images looting a grocery store. “He saw the person go into the shop and take the goods,” Stokes said, “and that’s why he wrote ‘looting’ in the caption."
Santiago Lyon, AP’s director of photography, told Salon that all captions are vetted by editors and are the result of a dialogue between editor and photographer. Lyon said AP’s policy is that each photographer can describe only what he or she actually sees. He added, “When we see people go into businesses and come out with goods, we call it ‘looting.'” On the other hand, he said, “When we just see them carrying things down the road, we call it ‘carrying items.'” “Looting” or “finding”? - Salon.com
