I agree with OP. Cry me a river. The churches do not need any more power than they have already. Being tax exempt alone gives them a lot of power other organizations don't have.

Ill ask in another way:How can the Baptist, catholic, pentacostal, mormon, etc. church on your corner abuse its power in a way that impacts your life?
They have a captive audience that tends to buy into anything their pastor says and when they preach to vote a specific way many will. That equates to electing Law Makers than can and do impact everyone's life. Too logical for ya.
I agree with the idea that if the Religious Beliefs want the government out of their business then they need to do the same, once a church blatantly crosses that line then yes they should lose their tax exempt status, choices have consequences and should. And before you go off, I am a Christian and I believe the Church needs to stay out of politics and that the government has no business being involved in Religion.

Let's hope that this of Trumps another do nothing laws. IMO, churches should lose their tax exemptions. They abuse their power and a lot of them tend to use churches as a place for political gatherings, etc.

I also believe that things such as the 10 commandments should be taken out of ANY government building.
I am a little confused. Trump promised to basically repel the Johnson Amendment. He did and now people are still criticizing his order as not good enough? What exactly is it they were wanting.

Trump and his party don't have a clue about what religious liberty means.
