Don't be ridiculous. Every American I know regardless of party is writing a check to send to Houston.

Your hatred is despicable.

We had major floods this spring here in Montreal, thousands of homes were inundated with water damage, while the government said it would help getting the money to rebuild your house is not a given, i fear most people in Texas will be on their own when it comes to repairing their waterlogged homes.

I disagree. We all pay Federal income taxes equally, we should all receive equal Federal help when needed.

Politics is just politics. A lot of stupid stuff gets said by politicians for political reasons.

That shouldn't stop us from doing the right thing.

What's unreal is that she thinks anyone in Houston gives a damn about her and her opinion, considering what the city is currently going through.

Between NRG, Toyota Center, GBR, etc., no one is worried about playing armchair QB with Sly Turner's decision, especially those who were here when Rita hit.

Her irrelevant crying will fall on deaf ears here.

It's funny that you're making fun of someone whining but you're doing the same exact thing!
Maybe you can point out where it was that was I was whining, otherwise save your opinion.

Many, many people will be financially destroyed and lose their homes and livlihood and it will be years, if ever, that Houston recovers from this to what it was before the storm.

The Houston area has been the fastest-growing in the U. S. for some time. This has led to many structures being put in places of greater danger of floods. If there was ever a time and place to put a new set of guidelines in effect, about where re-building can be done, this is it. Every bit of land where this flood has reached, should be off-limits for future use, other than for open-space parkland. This policy should prevail everywhere, that natural disasters are likely to strike.

As a warming climate will increase the frequency and intensity of these events, the nation can't afford to keep paying for re-building in these danger zones. It's a huge problem in many larger urban areas, such as Miami and New York City. But if action isn't taken now to move all these habitations to higher ground, Mother Nature will wash them away and it could happen anytime.

Arizonans aren't coming to you with their hands out for disaster aid, are they?

Moreover, I'm not here making excuses for MCCain and Kyl, am I? They were wrong.

But these Texas cowpokes are all making excuses for Ted Cruz's grandstanding back in 2012!

Why wouldn't they want cuts to offset the spending? FEMA is only budgeted through September. The National Flood Insurance Program is up for re authorization around that time also.

We haven't received info about the bill yet either so you jumped the gun a bit.

btw Texas has a 10 billion dollar rainy day fund.

Arizona probably doesn't have much of one. Doesn't cost much to rebuild a desert.
Which is why we aren't standing at the trough with our hands out begging AFTER telling other states that they shouldn't get funding.

Blow through your 10 billion first before showing up with your grubby paws out.

No, we don't all pay equally.

And stop with the whining "oh dear how do you evacuate 6 million?"

You only evacuate people in danger which is at most a few hundred thousand.

You control access to the highway so they are not over loaded.

You don't have to go as far as the moon to get to high ground.

If someone actually was concerned in Texas about these people they would have been told to leave and buses run to areas and loaded full.

Every one not in danger should be kept off the road until dangerous areas with low lying homes are cleared first.

Have you actually watched any of the coverage of the floods in Texas and Louisiana?

Now wasn't I just reading something in the press about the entire GOP delegation from Texas stone walling relief for victims of Sandy?
Hmmm?
Who hates whom?
Hmmm?
Congress has always porked up legislation which has been one of their most despicable moves. I hav no idea why any Congress critters got their ire up over that bill.
I also do not understand what the current hurrah is about:
"The Bill was introduced into the House of Representatives on January 3, 2013 by Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), with 44 cosponsors.[2]
On January 4 the Bill was considered by the House. The vote was made under suspension of the rules, so it required a two-thirds majority.[3] It was passed 354-67." It was passed in the Senate by a voice vote.

It PASSED!
Go on the the next review of stupidity, please.
