Sir,

There is a high chance the earthen dam near you will not hold. If it breaks, there is a 50% chance you will die.

Now, do you want to get on this nice air-conditioned bus, with unlimited beer, dancers, Wi-Fi, and ribs? We are going to Six Flags! Then we will all stay in a Trump resort property and eat chocolate cake with two scoops of ice cream.

Or, do you want us to leave you behind?

Your choice.

Is that type of mandatory evacuation acceptable?

If so, the condition you appear to have is that the evacuation must be satisfactory to you.

Ok OP was being sarcastic and I agree. The liberal media is going after low hanging fruit... people who have a big chip on their shoulder and are easily manipulated...

It's sad first to carry the heavy chip when the rest of us are getting along just fine. It's sad that the liberal media makes a living agitating those people. I guess some people thrive on being angry which is a sad life.

East Texas' misery may not be over yet.

I've been watching hurricane Irma on the Weather Underground. Those guys are all total weather geeks, and I've found their stuff to be very reliable.

Irma just reached force 4 while still out in the open Atlantic. 135 mph winds. The projected storm track is still very unpredictable, but the most reliable early predictors have Irma coming ashore around next Tuesday on the islands in one projection, the most likely.

The other 3 show Irma coming ashore in E. Texas in one, but 2 others show Irma hitting Florida and working her way up the Atlantic coast all the way to New York. One has the storm curling westward at the northern end and ending over the Great Lakes.

Irma will lose much of its present winds as the storm begins to move west, but once it hits the very warm waters of the Gulf, it will regain some of that wind strength before it moves inland. Irma could carry as much water inland as Harvey did if it moves as slowly once in the Gulf of Mexico as Harvey moved, and the high atmosphere conditions are still unchanged since Harvey's formation.

As long as the Gulf waters stay as warm as they are, any hurricane that moves inland is most likely to be another soaker. The warm sea combined with the warm air temps makes a perfect combination to turn atmosphere into rain once a storm starts spinning up the atmosphere high enough to make it condense into raindrops.

And there's a 3rd tropical storm forming now. Lidia, which is now a weak tropical storm lying pretty far south. If it strengthens, its most likely to soak S. Mexico and part of Central America, but if it gathers hurricane strength, it could move northward off the coast.

This was forecast to be a busy hurricane season. But no one forecast so many tropical storms forming so early in the season. 3 big ones so early is very unusual, and the season ends in November.

I have to agree with DD's statement the state of the church worldwide is terrible, especially in the U.S? That is why Christianity has been decreasing in membership in the U.S and other western countries, because in many churches the people in the church act like the atheists outside of the church. For example Mormonism is one of the few christian sects/groups that are still growing. Islam is steadily growing because many Islamic people or at leas the ones that don't frequent mosques act more like the Amish and Mormons even when their is no church person watching. Another plague on the church that was luckily thwarted by the government but has rapidly expanded in places like Nigeria is as someone pointed out upthread is "Prosperity Preachers", these people can "grow" the church but they make it into a business and IMO merge the church and capitalism into an un-holy alliance (pardon the pun), and completely poison what Christianity is all about. Again first hand example in Nigeria were Christianity is growing like crazy(outpacing Islam in the country) but being part of the church is like a job that involves training, college and infighting between people to get to the top which is a Nigerian version of a televangelist. Sure their are millions of people in the system that are good, and while the majority of the top seem to be good people but everyone in the middle seems to advertise church like it is a business as in it is very common for people from one Pentecostal church to go to another Pentecostal church and spread rumors to convince people to move to another church. This clearly isn't a Nigerian phenomenon as you see often in the west of the crazy preacher's daughter or son that knows something that the denomination doesn't know, or scandal after scandal in films featuring church, you can say its the media trying to spread lies but this is based on an iota of truth. Mosques are as far as I know different in that their is no struggle to the top infighting to be the most powerful imam at least in the U.S.

Well if another one comes to Houston it looks like few who really need to get out owing to flooding have cars anymore.

Those that do might not be able to buy gas if the supplies are gone.

Someone still hasn't figured out that the oil refineries should be moved inland and higher ground.

It takes about 4 years to build a grass roots oil refinery and petrochemical plant.

Perhaps 2 more for environmental impact statements and approval.

The added bonus for moving them is they likely would be more efficient, safer, and create thousands of jobs to build them.

Default Will Clinton or Obama donate their own money to Harvey relief?

President Trump is donating $1 M of his own money for Harvey relief. But don't hold your breath for Clinton or Obama to follow suit.

Even so, the "mainstream" (Leftist) Media continues to focus on Melania's shoes (she wore heels when she boarded Air Force One to visit the area), and claim Trump shows "no compassion" (MSNBC). I guess they expected to see him hugging people like Obama or Clinton would have done. No, Trump is more "let's get to work" oriented. That isn't what they want. Liberals are moved by emotion, not real action.

But let's see if Obama or Clinton offer donations of their own money to help the victims. So far, has been their response.

I am guessing all living ex-presidents already have donated, but keep it to themselves. Trump is the only one who feels compelled to brag about it.
