That is the only sad thing about it. These guys will have to relive this douche bag dying over and over again. No wonder there is a high alcoholism rate with FF and LE. The smell of burning human flesh will be etched in their minds for the rest of their lives.

I suspect drugs or alcohol was involved mixed with suicidal intentions.

How did the hippy snowflakes respond to this? Did they cancel the rest of the party? Were counselors brought in along with comfort puppies?

We shouldn't joke because today there is now a grieving family somewhere.
The pagans in attendance probably had orgasms.

Controversial how?

I can't imagine why they would be doing this in Nevada, of all places.
It started as an artists' solstice beach festival in San Francisco. When it got too large for the beach, organizers looked for a place with more room and less probability of annoying the neighbors.

"In 1986 the first Man burns on a San Francisco Beach.

Larry Harvey and his friend Jerry James knock together an improvised wooden figure and drag it down to Baker beach on the Summer Solstice. They light it up, and a curious crowd gathers to watch it burn." https://burningman.org/timeline/

Leave it to City-Data to somehow make this into some kind of political argument LOL.
Pretty much.

Been there, but sure didn't do that!
But I do find it rather hilarious that a man actually burns at Burning Man. To be politically correct, they need to rename it to Burning Person to allow women to join in.
