The average commuter in Dallas and Houston has to shell out $200/month in tolls, where here, no one pays any tolls. For someone who only makes $1,000-$1,500/month, $200 is very punative!

Lol, you think tolls are federal revenue?
BTW, I live in Houston and pay abou $30 a month in tolls.
I'm not saying I agree with imposing more taxes. But if we're going to tax businesses, churches should be treated the same. A church is nothing but a business, despite the fact that they pretend otherwise.
we have this wild eyed conversation going on, driven by bigotry yet no one has even come close to explaining how government taking adds to the economy.
What is the exact tie between tolls and federal income taxes?
That has nothing to do with what you were talking about. Replace one with the other and you are still paying money out. Many of the bridges you now pay tolls on were partially funded with federal dollars. This is how many roads work. Without that you simply pay higher tolls.
Yep that is a simplistic answer to the question but it's probably best to stick with that.

O.K.
We spend trillions we do not have. We waste trillions on wars for no justifiable reason. If we collected no taxes, no country in the world would accept our money and the economy becomes Venezuela.
Now you can argue that we can do away with the wars, and I agree. Wall Street isn't going to be pleased but I believe in the long run it will be worth it, BUT we are not doing that.

How does replacing the current federal tax system with the FAIR tax system affect tolls?
