I'm still trying to figure out why...I saw McConnell announcing it and he looked like he'd just sucked a lemon. I guess Republicans wanted to push it out past the 2018 elections.

Am going to say this for the *hopefully* last time; DT does not give a rat's behind for anyone else but himself, and perhaps that some kind of family of his, period and end of story.

DT certainly has no great love for the GOP including and in particular the Establishment of that party. Only thing His Orangeness knows is that by some great miscalculation of the Gods he became POTUS, and intends in continuing with that vast error of the cosmos again in 2020.

Simply put DT will say or do anything that will get him things to sign into law (he likes to see the Trump name on things, the more bigly the better), and cement his chances of being re-elected or at least securing the GOP nomination. If that means throwing members of that party under a bus, then so be it then, because nothing else truly matters to His Orangeness.

Pick your favourite megalomaniac ruler or whatever from history: Napoleon, Caligula, Hitler, Wilhelm II, Stalin, etc.., and you'll find at least two thing; it is always about "them", and even their closest family and or advisors weren't safe or immune.

As have also stated previously DT is *NOT* a politician, but a businessman. One who pretty much is used to getting his way, and or getting rid of those who stand in his way. This and that he is always blameless when things turn out badly, and shifting or assigning said blame elsewhere. If DT has to get into bed with Schumer and the Pelosi woman to get what he wants, then that is what will happen. Mitch McConnell will be "sucking lemons" many more times over the next three years I shouldn't wonder.

Amazing.

The state that gave us a teabagger like Ted Cruz and hates big government so darn much doesn't have a problem asking for FEDERAL dollars when the money is for them.

As for Mitch McConnell, he always looks like he just sucked a lemon.

Texas is sitting on reserves/rainy day funds of in excess of one billon dollars; something the governor has stated publicly it does not intend to touch. Rather the state will wait for FEMA/federal funds.

Not widely known but never the less is a fact Texas has had the most federal disaster declarations or any state (around 81 or 86 IIRC) since around the 1970s until recently.

And yes, Ted Cruz is now busy talking just the opposite of fiscal restraint, promising all sorts of federal aid. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/04/u...bott-cruz.html

Trump should put in place some spending cuts like taking away from NPR/PBS their 400 million a year welfare check.
