Republicans say. Smaller federal govt and let the states and cities have there own ways. In Mo the repubs won't let the cities raise minimum wages even though the citizens voted for it.

Seems like a big lie.

Republican farmers also love farm subsidies. Red states also love military bases. Both represent huge government spending. They want to reduce government unless it benefits them.

"Big government" = government offering anything to poor people. And heaven forbid if the poor people aren't white!

California actually has the most military people of any state. California is blue.
California is actually first in agricultural production. California is blue.

My, my.......... Do you just say anything that pops into your head?

Trump has placed a freeze on government hiring.

California is the size of several midwestern states. Suggest to farmers in Iowa or Kansas or Nebraska, etc. that they give up farm subsidies. Talk about primal scream. Suggest Oklahoma give up military bases. They have entire towns based on the economy of military bases. Close Ft. Sill and Lawton Oklahoma will disappear. These very right wing states love government money if it goes to them.

The problem is that most Republicans are not conservatives, which is why I don't call myself a Republican.

Default Where Do the Republicans Practice What They Preach?

In their demands, they cherry-pick just what they want, from both big government and limited government. But that's not a combination that is available. They live in a fantasy world that never existed and never could. They seem to think that they can harvest an abundance for themselves, while cutting short everyone else. And then expect the others to go along with that. They claim to favor state's rights, except when the states actually want to do something they don't favor. So why does our society allow them to continue the con-game they run?

That's one area where Republicans are hypocrites. Their argument would be cities are political subdivisions of the state.
