It ain't just the Muhammads of the world committing mass murders. A lot of Roberts, Johns and Davids have done more than enough massacres.
They're in the link too, but it is a spot in history compared with a 1000 years of unabated attacks and murders by Muslims in India that continues to this day. You really think that any Hindu or Sikh in India is worried about Brits today?

9 of 10 current terrorist attacks in India today is by an Islamic group against Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians.

The British partitioned Bengal first and then just before they vacated the place they partitioned the entire area 3 ways with East and West Pakistan. More than a million people died, were left homeless and pennyless. The killings happened on both sides, women were raped, and the shame of it caused many Hindu and Sikh families to kill their own women.
The people had no idea what was happening,no plans for refugees, no nothing. The Brits were in charge and it was their responsibility.
Many Rams and Mohans have also done, and doing, mass murders within India.

Answer:

No. Sikhs are not Muslims.
It depends on the context and who is asking and why.
