This Jew is not supporting the left.
Jews always opposed the more nationalist and conservative parties. It's a tradition thing. I think that the pro-palestinian left is much more dangerous than the non neo-nazi right.
Again, approx. 76/24
We get it. Some of you are the 24. But that is still a BIG majority. You will have a hard time finding such large majorities in most political matters.
Most American Jews of the younger generations don't hardly think about Israel (other than on occasion some with family ties). Heck, I know lots of Israelis that live in the USA, Mexico, S. America, etc - so it's not even like Israelis support Israel fully.
Younger people have a different experience. They were not "there" when it was all happening with the formation of Israel. Older "baby boomer" Jews are often "think for yourself" types as opposed to herd animals and may question some of Israel's tactics in dealing with the Palestinians. This is, of course, their right (freedom of speech, right?)....
The OP stands. Most American Jews do not - and will never - support Trump. Certainly American Jews KNOW Trump much better than the average American (due to NYC and NJ, etc.)....and to know him, in general, is to dislike him.
Those are the facts. Nothing is likely to change them because - frankly - Jews don't like "gauche" people like Trump nor Bullies. They want a policy or point of view explained in ways more sophisticated than 3 letter words and "believe me".
It seems Trump has two minds.
One is when he's Donald, whose favorite child is his convert daughter, who became Jewish, and her husband, the orthodox Jew who is his most trusted and closest advisor.
The other one is Donald's Father, who was a well-known anti-Semite, KKK sympathizer. and general all-round hardcase bigot.
We never know which we will get from moment to moment, and I don't think Trump knows himself which he will be either.
I don't know a lot of Jews, but I know a few. They are alert, more alert than Christian Anglos, to signs of bigotry, and while all I know support Israel completely, some do not support Netanyahu and his right-wing coalition government. And in general, they don't trust inconsistency when it comes to bigotry.
In addition:
People outside of Israel don't understand it's coalition government is five different parties that combined to together is what makes the Israeli gov't. Between them, the parties hold 61 of the 120 seats in the Knesset. By US standards the coalition government is lead by one group who had the most votes, but that group must also bend to the requirements wanted by the other four. Thus in US standards three of them would've voted for Clinton and the fourth would've voted for Sanders.
Jews support the Democratic party, because that's what most Jews do. This should shock no one. It's not because Trump is an anti-Semite or White supremacist. That's nonsense. Trump spent his entire adult life doing real estate in Manhattan, so it's a safe bet he's friends with and has been doing business with Jews for decades. Then there's his son-in-law, converted daughter and Jewish grandchildren. On top of all that, not more than a few months ago Trump was taking flack from the left for his support of Israel, who ironically the left seems to generally hate. This is the general equivalent of someone posting a link showing Blacks favor Obama or Trump.

If you actually read the article you will see it is broken down by issue.
Apparently Jews aren't like you...they don't do "what most do", but rather actually think about the issues.

Keep in mind that when we as Republican Jews voted we pressed the button that stated "Not Hillary". We voted for the Party and not for Trump. Those of us who are Boomer and older (including former) NY's understand what comes out of his mouth is the stereotypical NYr which is to state whatever is on ones minds without stopping for the PC filter.

This only makes sense if you agree on the following...that Jews voted for Obama and Gore in about the exact same percentage as they did Hillary.
So you can't blame it on Hillary.
Personally, I am sad that anyone who considers themselves a Baby Boomer would vote for someone who abuses women and brags about it - and bullies most everyone.
But, hey, we all get one vote. As they said back when, don't trust anyone over 30 I guess! (brains harden).

What do you not understand??? We voted for the Party and not for Trump.
And Bill Clinton, a Democrat, was SO much better getting BJs from interns IN the White House.

That BJ that Clinton received was from a Jewish woman. Her name was Monica Lewinsky!
