Do they provide a customer list to local PD so they can check for warrants, how about delinquency in child support, should they provide all license plates make sure no one is behind in their payments, where does it stop.
I dont agree with what they did, but getting fired is a bit much, if they indeed handed all customer records and not just hispanic looking ones then really they did nothing wrong, i also dont think there is any need for protest or pitchforks outside of their business, if you dont want your information given to ICE then dont go there thats where it should stop.

I actually don't have a problem with it. It was directed at people who shouldn't have been here anyway.

So when the Democrats retake power they can send Federal troops to Alabama and arrest all the Bible thumping Talibangelicals like Roy Moore?

It's unclear whether they went against company policy.

The company will send a directive to 1,400 locations stating employees are prohibited from voluntarily providing guest lists, and conduct a review of current practices that could lead to new company-wide guidelines.

Is this something new or previous policy?

That directive is BS.

Harboring -- Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iii) makes it an offense for any person who -- knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation.
Quote:
With regard to violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(ii)-(iv) and (v)(ii), domestic transportation, harboring, encouraging/inducing, or aiding/abetting, the basic statutory maximum term of imprisonment is 5 years, unless the offense was committed for commercial advantage or private financial gain, in which case the maximum term of imprisonment is 10 years.
So, Motel 6 is demanding every employee face up to 10 years in prison if they KNOWINGLY harbor illegal aliens for commercial advantage". What the hell kind of company prohibits employees from following federal law?

Geez let's just report every cheating hubby with da mistress too - I don't know if the people were disturbing the peace or just getting some sleep . But question is : is that you and your daughter in the motel room? Or. Are you a pedophile with a stolen kid? I ask that because how do you know who Is illegal? What makes anyone assume that ? You might think I am an illegal - and maybe am an undercover cop? You cry allll the time about privacy, unless it's about your affairs. Assumptions with out facts can be very dangerous

I am amazed that people actually think like this. Motel 6 is absolutely correct in stating that no one will simply hand over company records without a warrant or authorization. That is pretty much the policy of every company in the country. That could easily get a company sued.

That does not stop someone who knows someone is illegal from calling the authorities and say "Joe Smith is at the Motel 6 and he is here illegally".

Phoenix sure is turning into a bastion of liberalism. The motel did change their policy, but why are city leaders now trying to dictate whether or not they share customer databases with federal law enforcement.
those are not city 'leaders', more appropriately called bureaucratic dictators of the social justice party.

M6 has now been dragged into the sights of the social justice crowd, let's hope they stand up. the lossi n business will not be from the very few activists who won't stay there, it will be from the larger demographic staying away. So M6 has a choice as do the voters next election.

Their policy is the policy of every hotel chain. Good luck with that.
