Don't know where you got that from. I'm trying to understand why this happened.
I'm questioning whether they were dressed in a way that is normal in their own country and possibly considered disrespectful in another country. This saying has been around for a a very long time for good reason: "when in Rome, do as the Romans". This means respecting the law and cultural values of other countries.
Uh, Marseille is in France if you're not aware. France is less prudish than the U.S.
It's not restricted to those countries heck, even in Scandinavia they are having problems.
Some people raised the question about outfit having something to do with it. I think it's more about nationality. The attacker probably knew the girls were Americans

Sounds to me like the woman who threw acid is a crazy person who viewed these women unfavorably and chose to target them. I'm really asking for more information, as hearing about the injured women seems like half the story.
If what you say is true then either
1) war zones are getting a bad rap
2) you're over exaggerating the problems
