If I were in that situation I would use my own private security, as I'm sure he'll be doing. They can be far more effective when it comes to dealing with any threats and a lot more discreet than the Secret Service could be.

There is no private security available that can match the protection skills of the SS. If something bad happens they opened themselves up to it.

Not really, what is going to set him apart is he can afford the very best private security available. Those details could even be superior to the Secret Service with two exceptions. They would not have government intel which I would assume would not be an issue since I'm sure any important information would be forwarded to them. The other issue is what weapons would be available to them especially somewhere like New York.
