I guess you have never come across the term "vehicular homicide":

a crime that involves the death of a person other than the driver as a result of either criminally negligent or murderous operation of a motor vehicle

When you're in a hole, it's best to stop digging.

I think you're looking for vehicular manslaughter. Homicide requires intent, in this case, meaning he purposely drove the car into the water (if he was even in it, that has become debatable).

And more importantly, he was never charged or tried, so according to the legal system, he's not a murderer. Get over it, it's been decades....

Certainly Laura Bush has heard of it. Perhaps we should make a movie about how blowing through a stop sign and greatly exceeding the speed limits can impact a young life.

But the past is the past. All we can do is try and atone.

Yeah, where's the movie about the guy Laura Bush killed?

A movie about Laura Bush's accident wouldn't be as dramatic. Like most people, she cooperated with the cops. It would probably be a box office flop.

Actually, she didn't drown. There was no water in her lungs. She suffocated when the pocket of air was used up. 2-4 hours of suffering, waiting for rescue, which never came. If that isn't horrific enough to make people stop defending Teddy, I don't know what is.

Obviously there is a whole lot of lying going on from the Kennedy clan and their sycophants. Ted and Mary Jo left the party, reportedly to bring her back to the hotel. But she left her hotel key and purse back at the cottage.

Their car was originally spotted parked on a dirt road. When a good Samaratin approached the car to see if they needed help, it spun off in a hurry.

The car was headed AWAY from the direction of the ferry - not toward it - when it plunged off the bridge. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the couple left the party for a little time on lover's lane. When Mary Jo was found, she had no underwear on, but her panties were found in the glove compartment of the car. From all accounts, the Kennedy boys were notorious for their womanizing and "sharing" of their sexual partners.

None of Ted Kennedy's account makes any sense, but the whole incident and subsequent cover up is pretty disgusting.

What I find amusing is the PG-13 warning- 'contains strong language AND HISTORICAL SMOKING'.
Kids must be warned that people in the movie will be having a legal tobacco product in their mouth, known as a cigarette and smoking it.

Why bring it up again? Cost him any chance of being President and colored his life badly for history.

You folk want to exhume the body and tar and feather it or something?
My wife and I had a date night and tonight it was Chappaquiddick which wasn't my idea but hers.

Married over 40 years and I still take her out on dates... with our senior discount out tickets were $6.50 each and in her oversized purse was our drinks and healthy trail mix.

Anyone else outside the Kennedy crime family would have done some serious jail time... he was drunk and it was manslaughter. Oh, and being 70 I remember it when it happened.

The fact that this film was made shows the old political Dem elites are being buried in the dustbin of history. That includes the Clintons. Imagine the films that will be pitched once Hillary drops dead.

I don't plan to see this film because the poor girl died a horrible death. I'd have nightmares. Wonder how Teddy's kids feel about it though
