Except it would be absurd to say that someone lynched themselves.... while there's actually been quite a record of many high profile "hate crimes" ending up as hoaxes. See a non-exhaustive, continuously updated list here:
"Fake" hate crimes have become so pervasive in the past year that I no longer pay any attention until arrests are made. As a matter of fact, the TOS of this forum should be changed so that such topics can ONLY be discussed once arrests are already made. Because it's tiresome to see so much outrage followed 50%+ of the time by a later, "oops, Holly hijabi actually made up the story about white men wearing MAGA hats pulling her headscarf off"!

I'd bet it was someone who had trouble making the grade or just didn't want to be there and hatched this scheme up. make it look like you're the target of racism and possibly get a break, or claim that there was too much hostility there and use that as an excuse to leave without losing face. I'd say that's about a 75% chance of what happened, the other 25% would be it was some white guy that had a personal problem with one of the black recruits and did it to be an a hole. They should be able to weed out who did it but they'll probably keep it quiet to avoid media attention.
Jelani Bland, who was inside the dorm where the racist message was written, tweeted amid the chaos.
'2 days after the racism on my door we got people shooting up the school ? I'm starting to feel like I made a mistake real talk,' he said.
I will wager dimes to donuts right now that it is a hoax. The history of these "look what someone wrote/drew/etc that oppressed me" events is almost 100% reliable to be a hoax perpetrated by the person claiming to be the "victim."
Why would someone go through what it takes to even be accepted to one of the most prestigious universities our nation has just so they can trash their entire future away by vandalizing a fellow cadet's door with nonsense that they know for certain will wreck their entire future? Occam's Razor suggests, quite strongly, that oh yeah....THEY WOULDN'T.
Hoax.
I could write down a list of scandals our military and its members engaged in but I'm not going to. I've learned that people don't really want to learn anything anymore. They want to just be heard.
All I'll say is this: if you really do want to learn anything, do some research.
PLENTY of high ranking, well paid, exclusive military members have done really dumb crap.
The shooter hoax also likely originated at the prep school.
Quote:
A woman who works on base told News5 she first thought this was just an exercise. An employee confirmed the first call for a shooter happened near the US Air Force Academy Preparatory School.
Earlier this week, there was an incident at the Preparatory School that involved racist messages left on cadet candidates' message boards outside their dorms. The Lt. General Jay Silveria addressed cadets with a strong speech of zero tolerance for that kind of activity.
The guy sends a great message. Everyone should listen to it.
I agree with you that everyone should listen. The sad thing is, there are those who won't listen. Some people pine for the days of Jim Crow, of the Antebellum South. There are people who won't be outraged because they don't care. It will be looked at as "oh well, get over it". Some people have a disdain for persons of a certain race, but won't voice it.
