It's as if conservatives are the dog and Hollywood is the yellow bus. The dog always chases the yellow bus just like conservatives always follow and obsess over Hollywood.
Hollywood is a successful industry that is largely created by, run by, and participated in by liberals. These liberals became self-made millionaires and billionaires through the arts. The studios and production companies employee countless numbers of people from the actors themselves to handlers to managers to set builders to sound/audio techies to marketers and so on. Because the films are shot in various countries, all involved get to travel the world, visiting country after country seeing how other people live, how other governments work. They get a first-hand view of the effects of poverty, war, dictatorships, economic policies, elections, etc. Hollywood's movies each generate millions to billions of dollars in revenue, ultimately making Hollywood or the U.S. film industry a multi-billion dollar industry.
Conservatives like to say that only they know how to run businesses, create jobs, and generate income. Conservatives like to say that only they know how the world works. Conservatives like to say that they're the only ones that are successful. Conservatives like to say that only they believe in God and live the teachings of Jesus. Hollywood proves conservatives' creed to be a lie. That's why conservatives have aneurysms over any and all things related to Hollywood and its actors.
Think about it. Hollywood is full of liberals who are self-made millionaires that are running successful businesses, creating jobs, and generative massive revenue. These Hollywood liberals have traveled the world and are able to speak to worldly issues in ways that a conservative who's never left the South can't. Because of that worldly experience, these Hollywood liberals are big on humanitarian work from helping refugees to feeding the poor to supporting efforts to rescue sex slaves and victims of slave trades. In other words they practice the word of God while conservatives in the Bible belt are focused on tax reform and building a wall. Because of the massive reach Hollywood liberals have due to their celebrity, their message is heard by billions all over the world.
And this makes conservatives feel inferior. That's why conservatives need to demonize Hollywood liberals, minimize their accomplishments, and dismiss their views. As much as conservatives claim to not care about Hollywood, the fact remains that conservatives just can't quit Hollywood. They're obsessed.
The two are interconnected and always will be, politicians know who young people look up to and follow news about, its not about politics, Popular movie stars and other entertainers have TREMENDOUS influence over millions of people, of course that is going to be exploited!
Washington also instructs Hollywood on how to further the basic agenda, or better yet, how to best condition/ program the people in effective ways thru movies, music, tv, etc. If they can sway public opinion using this type of method, there is literally nothing they cannot do!

Liberals like to say much of that also. Fundamental differences in worldview and liberals should accept that rather than denigrate, conservatives should accept that liberals are the way they are also. I do not feel inferior nor superior. I just am. Perhaps it is that Hollywood feels superior, whether they do or not - it comes across that way. It's not my job to change your mind nor should you think it is yours to change mine or denigrate me. Plenty of that happens with Hollywood and people are tired of it.
Uh huh, this coming from the side that makes excuses for every little lie or thing Trump does. Isn't it about time you start saying "Hey, wait a minute, that makes no sense !" when you see some of the stupidity he pulls? Start thinking for yourselves, the Kool Aide can't be that good.
Hollywood is obsessed with hating Trump. I don't even go to the movies anymore every single movie has some kind of leftist political message now.
