It'd be more along the lines of x-ray scanners as some guns are non-metal or have very little metal components. At any rate this won't fly AT ALL. I've been to hotels where check-in was an hour (line in the Bellagio lobby). Can you image if bags had to be scanned? Or maybe it could work, cruise ships do it all the time where the bags either meet you at the room before or right after you get in. It is an interesting issue.

A top legal executive at CBS, Hayley Geftman-Gold, said she “is not even sympathetic” for the victims of the shooting at a country music festival at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Sunday night.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” wrote Geftman-Gold on Facebook, perhaps referring to Sandy Hook. “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”

From Scott Pelly after the Baseball team shooting:
Shortly after the attack on the GOP congressional baseball team gravely injuring Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise in June, former CBS anchor Scott Pelley questioned whether the shooting was “foreseeable, predictable and to some degree, self-inflicted.”

They are saying one was modified so it could be that or simply a bump fire stock which might explain the odd rate of fire that was heard. It would be hard to aim that one unless it was on a rest or tripod.

He also bought some guns in CA of all places.

If you have easy access to guns, criminals will have easy access to guns

If you don't have easy access to guns neither would criminals. They need you in order to get weapons since they can't purchase it from the manufactures themselves.

Case studies: Australia, Germany, UK, Japan, etc.

So are you saying that crime and criminals will cease to exist if there are no more firearms ? Or just gun related crimes ?

I mean, if you are saying crimes and all things bad will just plain cease to exist if there are no longer firearms in the U.S. , well then I might just some on the anti gun band wagon.

So what now? Metal detectors before entering hotels? Bag scanners before being allowed into the elevators? How comfortable are you knowing the guy in the next hotel room may have an arsenal with him?
You are correct on this one, if they were attained illegally. Then again, if he had illegal automatic firearms how would the authorities know ?

10 guns is an arsenal ?

the tools needs , the skills, the materials to produce weapons and ammo... and doing it on a large scale while remaining undetected... just nonsense. instead they would be illegally imported like every other nation. and they would cost an arm and a leg and get you sent to prison for decades thus nobody would want to be caught alive with a rifle...

Guns can be controlled we just lack the will to do it. It is an issue of culture. We must end the glorification of weapons.

I don't understand in this day and age why so many well-educated people on bright career tracks throw it all away over their insistence on expressing themselves on social media. It's a little shocking how incapable people are of using discretion with their words.
