One thing that's really bothering me - Paddock plans this literally for over a year and even does dry runs checking into other places during similar events. Cool under pressure gambling a million dollars a day, was fine sneaking an arsenal of weapons up to his hotel room - but then his whole plan is thrown off because a rent a cop is crushing the hallway, and Paddock just opens fire blindly with 200 rounds into the hallway? Then knowing that will draw an instant reaction, waits six minutes before starting the concert shooting?
If anything, wait for the guard to pass. If he stops at Paddock's room, open up, pull him in and shoot him. It makes no sense to get freaked out because a guard passes on your floor - shoot 200 times, and then don't even step into the hallway to finish the guy off so he can't call for help? And the. Wait six minutes after knowing your cover is blown.
What compelled the shooter to stop shooting at 10:15, when he certainly had more than enough fire power to continue?
Did he hear the Swat Team attempting to breach the stairwell door he had screwed shut? Or something else, unknown?
There aren't video cameras by the freight elevators ?
I'm sure there are, and I'm sure Mandalay doesn't want anyone seeing those videos because they could be used in a civil case to prove how lax there security was that a guy is going up and down with bag after bag and no one questions it.
It's possible Paddock thought the security guard was the police why he shot though the door fired from the room. Maybe he thought they were going to enter the room nothing happens then he starts shooting. I don't know what the casino had setup with police at any rate nothing much the hotel could have done their guards carry revolvers most of the ones I have seen. I remember the 1990's when LA gangs went to Vegas and robbed a couple of casino's with AK-47's. I would think these hotels would be better armed to deal with these situations. Usually the target is the money rooms not shooting from a hotel room. I think the security guard is really lucky he didn't get killed someone was looking out for him that night.

I heard it on the news this morning. If I recall correctly, it was the Vegas cops who said this bandwagon story the media has been running with last few days about a shooting prior to 10:05 may not be accurate.
Folks just flip their wigs over conspiracies though huh?
I think folks should just calm down, be patient, and not believe everything they think and read until we get the facts sorted out.

As I said the lawyers are chomping at the bit now with these latest revelations about the timeline. Now the angle seems to be that the security guard actually caused the mass shooting because, due to him running into Paddock, this caused him to panic and start shooting up the crowd.
Click bait blogs have been reporting all along the security guard was in cahoots with the shooter and have done so in spite of no factual evidence.
Paddock had 23 weapons in his suite, thousands of rounds, tripods and a note with calculations to maximize contact with the crowds below. He was prepared for a massacre and executed his plan.
What other purpose could this arsenal have served had Paddock not intended a massacre?
For all anyone knows, Paddock may have intended to start the rampage at 10:00PM ( nice round number) and the guard's presence on the floor was a temporary deviation.
No doubt the FBI knows the name of the guard's 3rd grade teacher and what he ate for breakfast 3 weeks prior to 10/1. Unless something new comes out, imagine yourself in the guard's shoes.
