Scroll down to the very bottom of the link below to see a table comparing prices of 15 top-selling generic drugs in Canada, Sweden, the United States (Veterans Administration), and New Zealand:

Generic drug prices could drop - if rebates are replaced with public tendering - Healthy Debate

Example: Atorvastatin for cholesterol, one 20 mg tablet

Canada - $0.33
Sweden- $0.08
U.S. Veterans Adminisration - $0.04
New Zealand - $0.03

I wish the chart included prices for other countries as well as the U.S. general public.

Atorvastatin 20mg, seems to cost $0.26 in the US.

Isn't that the truth. It's like they've put something in the water making us all apathetic. If we would ban together and hold their feet to the fire instead of doing all this defending and finger-pointing, we'd have these idiots where they belong - twisting in the wind.

I do not think so.. People WANT change!!

But, politicians are SO desperate for donations, that they will whatever their donors want.

Big Pharma spent almost $3.6 Billion last year on lobbying NOT to let Americans have the same healthcare as the rest of the industrialized first world.

And, I belive the top 3 Pharma, made 50Billion last year. Seems like a good investment for them, screwing the American people!

NO NO NO NO NO NO

That's the line the pharmaceutical companies gave Americans to make Americans stop asking why they pay more.

AND as you point out -- why do insurance companies and Americans allow it to happen if that is the case.

People say they want change but what do we do about it?

Whining on our computers doesn't count since it's not effective.

If the masses held their feet to the fire by contacting them and telling them they're being voted out unless they start representing we the people and then following through, it would be a start.

People are too loyal to their party and too busy pointing fingers to see how corrupt all politicians are. Until that changes, we really ARE screwed.

Canada orders the drugs in bulk, and sell drugs at subsidized rates. This how government is suppose to work, but unfortunately Americans wouldn't know, because their government is bought and paid for by big money interests.

Why wasn't that in the ACA?
