Democrats were/are fools to think their position on illegals is a winning one. I realized this after Oregon voters soundly rejected (by a margin of 68% to 32%) and overturned a law passed by the legislature that would have given drivers licenses to illegals back in 2014. Not even most leftists support such foolishness.

Having written that, some may wonder why Dems aren't being hurt at the ballot box more frequently on the issue of immigration. The answer probably lies with the fact that these behaviors, as stand alone issues, generate immense opposition, but, when combined with other pressing issues of the day, fall low on the list among leftists.

Such lawless behavior may attract a very small demographic (particularly among some within the Latino community), but Democrats should take notice that it is unwise to cater/pander to a minority while ignoring the concerns of the majority.

My wife is a Peruvian girl who came here LEGALLY. I met her at a time when parts of Cali seemed almost more Hispanic than white due to massive amounts of immigration, legal and illegal. Every other store catered to Hispanics, and there were massive numbers of Hispanics marching in the streets on certain days (one Mayday in particular) waiving flags from their own counry.

Now, most of them have gone home due to the insane cost of living here. My wife grumbles because a lot of her old pals are gone, and her friends complain that they can't afford anything because of all the rich Asians that have moved in.

Moral of the story: NO ONE, regardless of color, wants to be on the wrong end of a massive demographic change that fundamentally changes things for them.

Those who frame this as racism are vermin. They need to be stamped out for fomenting hatred. The traitors in the Democrat party are THE reason this country is coming part, by advocating for non-citizens and calling good Americans racist. The the civil war that they are starting is concluded, we must hold them accountable for their treason.

As someone whose family arrived in the 1600's, all you descendants of Irish Catholics and Italians and Germans and Russians need to LEAVE MY COUNTRY 'cause we got here first.

Has she looked in the mirror yet, you might be surprised that you can answer your own question "Why didn't I win".

What's that stupid saying about pointing at someone and there's more fingers pointing back at you?
