It's silly because statistically speaking, it hardly killed anyone, it doesn't add much lethality to the gun it's attached to, and it can be replicated easily by other means like rubberbands and belts.

Yeah, let's use our tax system as a weapon.

That's funny. Any firearm enthusiast that is serious about the hobby would be embarrassed to have one. They are a gimmick.

/agree

Bump stocks are pure silliness, like a party favor. They have nothing to do with legit sport shooting, marksmanship, riflery, etc. Just a toy for those range days where silly overrides serious.

And gun range is NO PLACE to get silly.

Exactly. For myself and every firearm enthusiast/sportsman I know...none of us have ever used one, played around with one, bought one, etc.

I don't think of firearms as toys or party favors, so bump stock silliness is wildly ignorant imho. But banning a piece of molded plastic that anyone can print on a 3d printer is ridiculous.

Ya, if some kook started shooting one of those next to me at the range I'd be packing up and calling it a day cause if they are that brilliant who knows what's next. One squib and you are next to a grenade going off.

Don't be naive. They aren't "just" banning bump-stocks. They are banning anything that could possibly increase the rate of fire.

That means if you polish your trigger to make it smoother, that would be a felony.

Liberals are vile but not stupid.
