You think that if NK attacked Canada that the US would do nothing?

Are you taking a Trump-esque position that NATO should be disbanded? I get the Cold War is over, but are there other threats? What about NORAD?

There is a happy medium between being a genital grabbing boor and a SJW metro-sexual wuss. That dude that was on his wedding photo shoot who rescued the black kid from a pond comes to mind.

Let's not pretend the USA is out doing all kinds of favors for all kinds of countries.

Every time the USA does something for another country - it is to protect its own interests.

And there is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY nothing wrong with that. The USA should protect itself first and foremost and always.

In doing that -- sometimes it means 'helping' other countries.

That's not a selfless martyr act...it's necessity and it's fine. The by-products of benefits provided to other countries is a small price to pay..

Still trying to think of a reason why NK would attack Canada. The only thing that I can even consider plausible is if Canada supported the US in some threat to NK. Now? I don't think we are on their radar. Pardon the pun

I believe the article describes the condition as being one of 'not obligated' to defend Canada.

I believe there is and has been no threat made by N.Korea towards Canada with the hypothetical therefore, being moot.

Where did you glean that "desiring the disbanding of NATO" from?

What about NORAD? It was designed as an early warning system of threats emanating from Russia towards the U.S.. Canada would be the area of interception.

Not only does North Korea not want to invade/nuke Canada, it wants friendlier relations with us.

According to a source with knowledge of the negotiations, talks started to get serious around last December, but stalled when North Korea asked that, in return for releasing Lim, Canada name an ambassador or full-time envoy to North Korea.
