President Trump welcomes Pittsburgh Penguins to White House | On Air Videos | Fox News

That's how it's done folks. No "look at me" drama and theatrics. No gossiping like school girls. Just pure civility, maturity and class.

Hockey's a white man's sport played by white men for the most part. Must be racism at work here, correct, lefties?

First of all I commend the Pens for attending the Whitehorse visit, and believe all champion athletes should put politics aside and feel honored to be invited and attend.

From my association with the "You Can Play Project" and the friends I have made from the NHL, I can tell you there has never been more sincere advocacy for diversity and inclusion from any other sports league then the NHL. They would never consider themselves the "white mans sport", regardless of the fact that it is mostly white. Even though "You Can Play" is specifically aimed at LGBT rights and inclusion, race and religion are also part of it.

I will agree wholeheartedly with the OP, the NHL has class. Not to say there are not plenty of those in other sports as well that have class.

I don't really care who goes or doesn't.

I don't really care their reasons.

If your want to go, go. If not, don't.

I don't see a single black person in that photo.

Only 9 of the 24 players are even Americans. The rest are from Canada, Germany, Finland, Sweden. One is from Russia, for crying out loud.

So why would these men make a stand against American cops shooting black people? What do they care?

It's refreshing to see a pro sports team that doesn't show support for racist hate groups.
