Marc Faber investment letter defends statues, praises 'white majority' - Business Insider

Quote:
I don't want to enter into a serious discussion of the tearing down of monuments of historical personalities, but I cannot omit mentioning how the liberal hypocrites condemned the Taliban when they blew up the world's two largest standing Buddhas (one of them 165 feet high), situated at the foot of the Hindu Kush mountains of central Afghanistan, in 2001. But the very same people are now disturbed by statues of honourable people whose only crime was to defend what all societies had done for more than 5,000 years: keep a part of the population enslaved. And thank God white people populated America, and not the blacks. Otherwise, the US would look like Zimbabwe, which it might look like one day anyway, but at least America enjoyed 200 years in the economic and political sun under a white majority. I am not a racist, but

Wrote it in a financial/business newsletter like it was nothing.

Whenever anyone starts a sentence with, "I am not a racist, but..." it's a sure bet they're a racist.

*shrug* never heard of the guy. Sounds like all the other investment hucksters out there making tons of predictions and pointing to the ones they get right.

I have to chuckle however at the racial views because I've looooooong noted on this forum that there is a lot of racism in Europe. (not to mention the guys 71)

I remember several posters around here denying that a lot of the European views towards Israel might have racist motivations...because the Europeans aren't racist like we are here in the US. Mmmmmmmm yeah right. lol.

This bears repeating.

It's like when people say "I'm sorry, but..." to preface something they just really want to say. No, you're not "sorry" - you just want the freedom to say whatever you want, and it's likely the next words are offensive.

Marc Faber is the darling of doomsday prophets (not to be confused with profits) in the investment world. As the quip goes, he’s predicted 10 of the past 5 recessions.

Europe indeed has a notorious history of racism, antisemitism and xenophobia. The difference is, that no nation in Europe ever asserted anything about “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses”. No nation in Europe ever regarded itself as a kaleidoscopic nation of immigrants. In other words, if the schoolyard bully takes your lunch-money, that’s to be expected; he’s by definition the bully. But if the nice-kid, the saintly selfless kid still turns around and takes your lunch-money, that’s totally inexcusable. A double-standard is inevitable, and entirely reasonable.

Any speculation as to what this place would look like if the Europeans stayed in Europe?

I think it's safe to say that Europe's civilization was (is?) much more advanced than Africa's. I know it's not PC, but facts don't lie.
