I picked #3 because #4 would have meant I liked them more than the rich or middle class. Oh btw what is the middle class now days, do we really have one or is it just an illusion.
sassy
I dislike people who are very well-off telling those of us that are somewhat well-off that we should fund more inefficient government programs that keep those that are not well-off from acheiving a better life for themselves.
I also dislike political correctness that has led to a valueless public culture that equates having children out of wedlock and the pursuit of individual happiness above personal responsibility with that of a solid family structure based on traditional American values.
I also dislike seeing the educational system dumbed-down to the lowest common denominator forcing unsupported liberal utopian ideals on everyone such as everyone's educational program should be the same regardless of ability, motivation, or work ethic. What happened to the notion of an equal educational opportunities?
It is interesting how the majority of today's educational funding is going to educate the lowest performing at the expense of middle and high performing students' programs. Intervention specialists, social workers, in-school suspension centers as well as federally-mandated programs are a Catch 22 for cash-strapped districts that often respond by cutting their program offerings for the average and above students (The one's responsible for keeping our country afloat!).
Countless cases of drug-addicted, mentally-ill, and uneducated birth mothers turning the care of their illegitimate children willingly or reluctantly to the state for raising their child often again and again. Many of those that don't get turned over are neglected, abused by boyfriends and relatives, or used to obtain subsidized housing and other financial supplements to avoid work. Able-bodied males impregnating multiple women while avoiding any responsibility for supporting the children they fathered.
Something has to change! Who is going to do it? Clinton, Obama, or McCain? How? I'm waiting. Don't tell me it's more money or some education program. It requires a change in societal values. That requires unity.
do you dislike poor people? Only answer if you consider yourself a conservative or a libertarian, no "liberals" or socialists allowed... just wondering whether your average internet-posting conservative dislikes poor people or not. Not trying to start anything, I didn't put too much thought into this post.
I hate poor people. I think us elites in society should band together with pitchforks and systematically eliminate all poor people. We'll start with those who have the least amount of money, since they are most detestable.
It is such a ridiculous rumor that conservatives dislike people, are heartless or money-servers. I believe it was the University of Syracuse that did a study that found that political conservatives give more of their money (both as a percentage of their income as well as net amount) than liberals; conservatives were found to also donate more of their blood and volunteer more of their time than liberals.

Yep, I read that study as well. Found it most interesting.
I consider myself a moderate/libertarian, LOL, and I do not judge anyone based on finances . . . any of us could lose everything due to illness or misfortune. I admire people who overcome adversity, but my philosophy is - you never know what someone else has endured in his/her life so none of us should judge a person's circumstances.
No offense, fishmonger, but this question is kind of . . . dubious. Maybe you were trying to reach some kind of consensus and just didn't word the question the way you really meant it. ??? Maybe????

I'm smiling right now. I've been posting feverishly all day,and while I know there are people out there who agree with me, most people who have been responding to my posts have been mean-spirited or simply strongly disagree to the point that I must offer my defense. Thank you! Someone finally wrote to say they agree with me! Also, I happen to be a registered libertarian myself.

Yes, I want to kill little children, kittens, puppies, and poor people.
I don't dislike poor people. What I dislike is having to foot a disproportionate share of the tax bill, and having others tell me I'm greedy and selfish for not wanting to pay more. I hate seeing people who can't take care of kids they should have never had and don't want, and then those kids being supported by the state because their parents can't support them or lost custody of them. I dislike that SOME poor people can't make better choices and decisions in life. Of coures if they had, many of them wouldn't be poor.

Awwwww . . . well I found it amazing someone else was aware of that same study! Sorry we have not crossed paths b/f so we could share opinions!
Government that governs least, governs best (or whatever that phrase is, LOL). I am not a registered Libertarian but I do espouse much of the philosophy - especially in regard to limitation of federal government.
As far as being "poor," or disliking "poor people," there are days I wish I were living off the grid. Of course, I snap out of that reverie quickly when I think - what about WiFi?????

I don't always agree with you but this one is spot on! Reps for you.
The professor was Arthur C. Brooks that did the study and published his findings in the book "Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism." Click here for an article about his book.
