Uh, we paid taxes and we paid on the loans. But some health care emergency loans were large and the banks called them in and although we could pay them off, we couldn't in one payment....

That's literally the mafia model. "We offer you our protection...have a check ready for us every month or else something bad might happen to you..."
I want the option to OPT OUT of the government "benefits" you describe and choose from alternative options. I want to CHOOSE who I pay to protect my property instead of someone coming to me and telling me "We're here to protect you. Pay up or else". That's called a protection racket.
No. I entered into this agreement when I bought land. I went into this knowing what the costs are. No one forced me to do it. If I get tired of this agreement, I can just sell the land. Not the mafia model at all.

You feeling that it's wrong for a bully to attack others doesn't stop the bully from doing it. Are you going to stop him with positive thoughts? A bully is stopped by greater force. That's reality.
