then Trump shouldn't get a ticker-tape parade at the announcement of ANY decent economic news, right? Or do only DEM POTUS have zero positive effect on the economy?

The stock market has gone up over 25% since Trump was elected less than a yer ago.

On the day after Presidential elections, the biggest drop in history was the day after Obama was elected in 2008 (also fell big time the day after Obama was reelected in 2012). Guess which day had the highest jump the day after a Presidential election?????????.....of course you can't guess because it was after the election of our current Great President Trump.

Trump is killin it and making an A every day....so happy we have a great leader when we need it.

Geeze, not THIS again?

Guess what? Even the stock market is nothing but a continuation of the last 7 years.

source: S&P 500 Total Return; Monthly Dividend Reinvest 1970-88 Then Daily (EOP)

The stock market bottomed out a couple months after Obama took office and has been steadily going up ever since. So, as I said, what we're seeing now is just a continuation of the past 7 years.

Presidents arent responsible for the stock market. The stock market is due to a ****ty bond market, and limited investment options elsewhere.

A company can lay off 10,000 employees, their stock would climb, but that doesnt mean the economy is great because 10,000 people just lost their job...

Thank you Obama for saving this country from financial disaster. Without you, we would have had another great recession that would have gone on for years.

I actually agree with you, but certain Trumpets here seem to think he is, so I'm holding them to their own standard. And by that standard, the current stock market run-up is simply a continuation of the one that began in 2009.

And you can be sure when the inevitable correction comes while Trump is still in office, they will be noticeably silent.

The stock market run up is simply because there is no where else to park ones money. Banks arent paying crap, bond markets in the toilet, there is absolutely no where else to park money right now other than the stock market.

Raise bank CD rates and the stock market will go back to normal
