FOX intentionally lied about the guy's background.... right, for what purpose?

Wouldn't be the 1st time the media got someone's background wrong. A mortal sin for sure!

What a disgrace, former active duty Navy SEALs themselves tried to contact Fox and they did nothing until it became a big issue.

Seriously, in this day and age there is absolutely ZERO excuse for any media outlet to publicize someone with a fake military background. It is so astonishingly simple to do a minor background check on anyone claiming a military background via FOIA.

Yet time after time we continue to see fake veterans fooling media outlets.

reputable news organizations research the facts before reporting.

your continual red herrings/strawmen are laughable and transparent.

Did they?
If they didn't, it's on them too. Shouldn't they have researched this guy's background before fawning all over him and airing his story?

It's a step up for them that at least they acknowledged it.

So, they didn't know he was a fraud when they interviewed him or first ran the story?

That is Fox. No integrity in their work. They have the same standard of journalism as the National Enquirer (another one of Trump's favorites).

The message is more important than the facts, even in human interest 'feel good' stories.

When they actually acknowledge it.

So far all they've done is pull the BS from their web site.

It's an encouraging start.

ROFLMAO!!!

What a bunch of fake outrage. Geez.

Let's see here.

A local Fox station heard about a veteran that was making something for Trump and aired a story about it. It had nothing to do with operational tactics or military procedures but was just a puff piece about a local guy.

Fox News, the national news organization, put it on their FB page and site.

The next day, they received information that the guy might have lied about his service.

Fox contacts him and his family as well as a verification center to get clarification and find out if he lied or not.

When Fox eventually gets solid confirmation, they pull the story from the web and issue a retraction.

This is the huge problem? Lol

Wow, the OP is just hoping to be outraged by Fox.

Talk about making mountains from mole hills.

ah. so reports come out of the hundreds of fake news lies told by the major networks about Trump, and the response is to find some mistake and make a big deal about it.
